If you experience or observe behavior that is inconsistent with our Principles of Community, please report it. You may report anonymously or by name, the following issues: Expressions of Bias, Hate Speech, Hate Crime, Graffiti/Vandalism, Intimidation, Bullying or Physical Violence, Bias Incidents, Hostile Climate, Other Campus Climate Issues

Title IX & Sexual Harassment Policy Compliance Office

The mission of the TIX/SHPC is to ensure all UCSB community members fulfill the campus’ commitment to create and maintain a work and academic environment free of sex discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual violence. File a Title IX report.

Grade Disputes

Students should first discuss their dispute with the instructor and the faculty in charge of the course to see if the issue can be clarified and resolved. If it cannot, it should be discussed with the department chair. If the department agrees that the grade was issued fairly, but the student does not agree, the formal process for disputing a grade can be found here.

From this policy: Grades "may only be appealed on the grounds that the grade (or the number of units) was based on an evaluation of the student's work by criteria that were not clearly and directly related to student's performance in the course for which the grade was assigned." Additionally, "This appeal must be submitted before the end of the term following the term in which the grade was assigned." You can find the Dean of Undergraduate Education for the College of Letters and Science here.
